ABOUT ASTRONOMY

We all know that the stars appear to move across the sky as the Earth rotates, but very few of us have actually observed this happening. Our ancestors, however, have studied these star-studded skies to guide them in navigating stormy seas, planting the right crop at the right time. Civilizations fitted star patterns together on a canvas and joined the "dots" to create stories!

Astronomy thus began on a canvas as an ancient science. The discovery of the telescope enabled mankind to explore numerous celestial objects. Astronomy has evolved from speculation to an exact science. Modern astronomy is a fundamental science driven by human curiosity about nature and the entire universe! Even though astronomy is studied on a large-scale globally, it gets minimal exposure in the Indian educational context. Through our engaging and in-depth sessions, students will become familiar with the planets, comets, stars, black hole, constellations, almanac, telescope, observation techniques and much more. Using field activities and hands- on experiments with the telescope, they can learn, explore and discover new aspects of our universe!
